Barbara Taylor Shipp Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established by the Ernestine Lenoir Charitable Trust in association with the Choctaw County Alumni Chapter to honor the memory of Barbara Shipp. The scholarship is given to a “qualified applicant” who is an entering freshman, a transfer student, or a full-time undergraduate student and is restricted to a minimum 2.0 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale.  "Qualified applicant" is defined as either: 1) a person who graduated from or attended school in Choctaw County, Alabama; 2) a person who graduated from a secondary school outside of Choctaw County, Alabama, but was a legal resident of Choctaw County prior to and during graduation; or 3) a person whose parent, grandparent, or guardian is a current member in good standing with the Choctaw Chapter of the National Alumni Association.  At the discretion of the selection committee on an academic year basis the scholarship may be awarded to a deserving full-time graduate student in good standing.
