Brigadier General Jim and Jeanie Mungenast Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established by Jim Mungenast with the East Tennessee (Knoxville) Alumni Chapter. Priority of consideration is given to entering freshmen students and currently enrolled undergraduate students graduating from a high school located in the East Tennessee UA Alumni Chapter area, who will be entering The University of Alabama Air Force ROTC program. If no such applicants are eligible, consideration shall then be given to any entering freshman graduating from a high school in the state of Tennessee who will be entering the AFROTC program. Of those applicants being considered, priority shall focus on ACT/SAT test scores, high school GPA, leadership qualities and financial need as described by the applicant. Additional scholarship assistance may be provided at the selection committee’s discretion for succeeding years of the recipient’s undergraduate education, not to exceed a total of four academic years of undergraduate study (eight semesters consisting of fall and spring), provided the incumbent recipient’s academic performance and progress are of such quality as to justify such renewal by maintaining a minimum cumulative 3.0 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale, and a positive recommendation from the AFROTC Det 10 Commander or its successor.
