Charles Edwin Shaver III Endowed Scholarship

Established by the Strain Family Foundation. Scholarships are awarded to entering freshmen who intend to major in a degree in the College of Arts and Sciences, with first priority of consideration being given to students who are from Madison County, Alabama, and second priority of consideration being given to students who are from the state of Alabama. Financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines, is a consideration in determining the recipients. The applicant should demonstrate solid middle of the road academic merit. The scholarship is awarded for one year only, and no student will receive the scholarship more than once during his or her enrollment at The University of Alabama.
