Charlie Hyram Cook Endowed Civil Engineering Scholarship

Established by Sarah Wanda Cook to establish a permanent fund to honor the memory of Charles Hyram Cook and to promote the education of full-time undergraduate students in Civil Engineering. Priority of consideration is given to full-time undergraduate students from the city of Montgomery who are pursuing a degree in civil engineering in the College of Engineering. Second priority of consideration is given to full-time undergraduate students from the county of Montgomery who are pursuing a degree in civil engineering in the College of Engineering. Third priority of consideration is given to full-time undergraduate students from Butler County, Alabama who are pursuing a degree in civil engineering in the College of Engineering. If there are no qualified applicants meeting the requirements from any of the above named domiciles, then any qualified full-time undergraduate students who are pursuing a degree in civil engineering shall be eligible. Recipients are selected on the basis of scholarship, leadership criteria, and potential for success in an engineering discipline. Students must have a 2.8 or higher grade point average on a 4.0 scale. The scholarship is renewable.
