Darleen Phipps Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established by Mr. Robert M. Phipps to honor the memory of his beloved wife. This scholarship is given to full-time undergraduate students who have completed a minimum of three semesters of study at The University of Alabama, who have a minimum cumulative 3.5 grade point average, and who are entering their junior or senior year of study. Priority of consideration is given to those students majoring in the painting or sculpting visual arts within the College of Arts and Sciences with priority preference for realism in oil painting. If there are no qualified applicants in visual arts, the scholarship is awarded to any student majoring in chemistry within the College of Arts and Sciences who meet the same criteria, with priority preference for the American Chemical Society certified course of study. The scholarship is renewable for each succeeding year of the recipient’s undergraduate education, not to exceed a total of two academic years of undergraduate study, providing academic performance and progress justify renewal.
