Established by Dr. Karen Thompson-Jackson and Veronica J. Elder. Priority of consideration is given to on-campus students enrolled in the master of social work program and are from the Black Belt region of Alabama (Bullock, Choctaw, Dallas, Greene, Hale, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Sumter or Wilcox counties) who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines. Second priority of consideration is given to on-campus students enrolled in the bachelor of social work program and are from the Black Belt region of Alabama who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines.
