Elizabeth Wilson Moore and Jackson Watts Moore First Generation Scholars Endowed Scholarship

Established by Elizabeth Wilson Moore and Jackson Watts Moore. Priority of consideration is given to first-generation students who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines, with preference given to those students who graduated from a high school in the state of Alabama or Tennessee. It is the Donor Representative’s intent to provide a scholarship up to the full cost of attendance to exceptional students who would not be able to attend the University without financial assistance. Scholarship recipients are known as Moore Scholars. It is the Donor Representative’s intent that there will be at least one Moore Scholar in each of the four classes (freshman, sophomore, junior and senior) each academic year. The scholarship may be renewable for each of the subsequent years of a recipient’s undergraduate education provided the scholarship committee deems the recipient’s performance and academic progress satisfactory.
