Fayard Reading Specialist Endowed Graduate Fellowship

Established by Gary P. Fayard and Nancy S. Fayard. The graduate fellowship is awarded to students pursuing a master’s degree in secondary education with an emphasis in reading in the College of Education. First priority of consideration is given to applicants who graduated from a high school within the state of Alabama who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines. Second priority of consideration is given to applicants who graduated from a high school within the state of Alabama and have taught in an Alabama school. Third priority of consideration is given to applicants who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines. It is the Donor Representative’s intent that two or three fellowships be awarded each academic year and that the fellowship recipients receive the fellowship until they graduate from the program.
