Hugh Borland Overton First Generation Nursing Student Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established by Hugh Overton in association with the Houston-Henry Counties Alumni Chapter. Priority of consideration is given to first generation students graduating from a high school located in Houston or Henry County, Alabama, that are enrolling in the Capstone College of Nursing and demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily financial need as determined by federal guidelines. The recipient’s parents may have attended college but did not graduate from a four year institution. If there are no students from Houston or Henry counties meeting the other qualifications, students from the entire state of Alabama may be considered. This scholarship is renewable.
