Kathleen Patrick Hughes Endowed Scholarship in Education

Established by Winfield Scott “Scotty” Hughes and friends of Kathleen Patrick Hughes. First priority of consideration is given to graduates of Holt High School or Paul W. Bryant High School who are enrolled in the College of Education and who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily financial need as determined by federal guidelines. Second priority of consideration is given to students who are enrolled in the College of Education and are members of the Kappa Delta Sorority and who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily financial need as determined by federal guidelines. Third priority of consideration is given to students enrolled in the College of Education and who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily financial need as determined by federal guidelines. Recipients are chosen in accordance with the procedures developed in compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and the regulations promulgated thereunder. The scholarship is renewable, provided the recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
