Hurtt/Killian Endowed Scholarship

Established by Dale Hurtt and the DeKalb County Alumni Chapter. Priority of consideration is given to entering freshmen or transfer students graduating from a high school located in DeKalb County, Alabama. Preference is given to those students enrolling in the College of Education or pursuing a building science degree. For entering freshmen students, the scholarship will be awarded for their freshman year only. For transfer students selected to receive the scholarship, the award is automatically renewable for an additional succeeding year of the recipient’s undergraduate education, not to exceed a total of two academic years of undergraduate study (four semesters consisting of fall and spring), provided the incumbent recipient’s academic performance and progress are of such quality as to justify such renewal by maintaining a minimum cumulative 3.0 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale.
