Christine Wright Purdy Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established by John R. Purdy with the Madison County Alumni Chapter. Priority of consideration is given to entering freshmen students graduating from Huntsville High School located in Madison County, Alabama who have achieved a minimum 3.0 grade point average and are enrolling in the College of Education or the College of Arts and Sciences. If there are no students from Huntsville High School meeting the criteria, then any other student from a Madison County high school meeting the criteria may be considered. The scholarship is automatically renewable for each succeeding year of the recipient’s undergraduate education, not to exceed a total of four academic years of undergraduate study (eight semesters consisting of fall and spring), provided the incumbent recipient’s academic performance and progress are of such quality as to justify such renewal by maintaining a minimum cumulative 3.2 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale.
