William C. Decas Endowed Crimson Scholarship V

Established by William C. Decas. Priority of consideration is given to entering freshmen who graduated from a high school outside of the state of Alabama and meet the criteria established for a Crimson Scholarship. The Alumni Association?s premier Crimson Scholarship is a four-year scholarship that typically pays an amount equal to the cost of in state or out-of-state tuition plus an additional $3,500 per year, a $300 annual book grant and a one-time $2,000 study abroad/research stipend. It is awarded to entering freshmen with a minimum 32 ACT or 1420 SAT score, 3.8 GPA, with preference to the top 2% of their senior class, and extensive leadership qualities. The scholarship is renewable for four of the years of a recipient?s undergraduate education, provided the scholarship committee deems the recipient?s performance and academic progress satisfactory and the recipient maintains a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA (or ?B? average) based on a 4.0 scale.
