Marie Volkert Parsons Endowed Journalism and Communication Scholarship

Established by the daughters of Marie Volkert Parsons (Christi L. Parsons, Melanie Marie Parsons Gao, Dr. Amanda Parsons and Dr. Caroline S. Parsons). Priority of consideration is given to main campus undergraduate students who graduated from a high school in Alabama, have demonstrated achievement in journalism and communications, possess a 3.0 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale, and are majoring or minoring in the Department of Journalism and Creative Media. Preference is given to first generation college students. It is the Donor Representative’s intent that one student be awarded up to $1,000 annually.
