Andrew William Palmer Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Established by friends and family of Andrew William Palmer and the San Antonio, Texas, Alumni Chapter. Priority of consideration is given to entering freshman students graduating or who have graduated from a high school located in the San Antonio, Texas Alumni Chapter area, who possess a 3.0 or higher grade point average on a 4.0 scale and who are majoring in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) area. Preference is given to, but not limited to, first generation students. The determining factor is financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines. The scholarship is automatically renewable for each succeeding year of the recipient’s undergraduate education, not to exceed a total of four academic years of undergraduate study (eight semesters consisting of fall and spring), provided the incumbent recipient’s academic performance and progress are of such quality as to justify renewal by maintaining a minimum cumulative 3.0 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale. An exception to full-time enrollment may be granted by the University, on a case-by-case basis when the student is not required to take a full course load to graduate, provided the student is enrolled part-time as determined by the University.
