Charley Thornton Memorial Gift Fund

Established by David E. Housel to honor the memory of Charles J. Thornton. The support fund is used to award $1,000 in each of the fall and spring semesters to a student who has shown uncommon commitment to The University of Alabama and Athletics Communications as evidenced by a willingness and eagerness to consistently go above and beyond what is asked or expected and who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines.
