Vulcan Materials Company - Darren Hicks Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Established by Vulcan Materials Company Foundation. First priority of consideration is given to entering freshman students graduating from Wenonah High School in Jefferson County, Alabama. Second priority of consideration is given to entering freshmen students graduating from a Birmingham City High School in Jefferson County, Alabama, including Jackson Olin High School and A. H. Parker High School, or those that may be built in the future and included in the Birmingham City School System. Preference may be given to those involved in leadership and community service. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years (eight semesters) of academic study provided the scholarship committee deems the recipient’s performance and academic progress satisfactory.
