Rance M. Sanders Endowed Real Estate Scholarship

Established by Mr. Rance M. Sanders. Priority of consideration is given to junior, senior, or graduate students who are enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business who are majoring or minoring in real estate, graduated from a high school within the state of Alabama or Florida, possess at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, and may have faced hardships in either their personal lives or at home and may not otherwise be able to attend college due to financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines. Second priority of consideration is given to junior, senior, or graduate students who are enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business who are majoring or minoring in real estate, graduated from a high school in any state, possess at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, and may have faced hardships in either their personal lives or at home and may not otherwise be able to attend college due to financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines. An essay about the student’s character, work ethic, and hardships is required for applicant consideration. The scholarship is renewable for each of the subsequent years of a recipient’s education provided the scholarship committee deems the recipient’s performance and academic progress satisfactory and provided the recipient remains majoring or minoring in real estate in the Culverhouse College of Business.
