Temple W. II and Margaret D. Tutwiler Memorial Endowed Political Scholarship
Established by William Edgar Welden to honor the memory of the late Temple W. Tutwiler II and Margaret Debardeleben Tutwiler. Priority of consideration is given to students who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines, and whose leadership activities in their schools and communities, and personal attitudes and expressed opinions and preferences indicate interest in community and civic service, faith in the nation’s free enterprise system as being the key to economic growth and improved quality of life, and a high probability of above-average participation in leadership activities as a student at The University of Alabama.
