Billy H. Vaughn Endowed Scholarship

Established by Billy H. Vaughn. Priority of consideration is given to deserving students enrolled at The University of Alabama who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily as determined by federal guidelines. Among qualified applicants, first priority of consideration is given to students who are graduates of Florala High School in Florala, Alabama; second priority to students who are former residents of the United Methodist Children’s Home located in Andalusia, Alabama; and third priority to students who are former residents of United Methodist Children’s Home branches located anywhere in the Selma, Alabama, district. If there are no applicants that meet these criteria, the scholarship may be awarded to any recipient that the scholarship committee deems worthy.
