William and Gene Henderson Endowed Scholarship

Established by Rebecca H. Strickland, Gene H. Wilson, Janet H. Staggs, and William T. Henderson to honor their parents, William H. “Billy” Henderson and Gene K. Henderson. Equal priority of consideration is given to students who are enrolled in any area of study in the College of Human Environmental Sciences at The University of Alabama and to walk-on student athletes participating in any sport in Intercollegiate Athletics who do not qualify for other scholarship funding and satisfy National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Southeastern (SEC), and University admission requirements for progress toward graduation. It is the donors’ intent that the endowment earnings support students who have faced hardships in either their personal lives or at home and may not otherwise be able to attend college due to financial need.
