Herbert Clark West and Elliott Mitchell African American Studies Scholarship

Established by H. Clark West and Elliott Mitchell. Priority of consideration is given to students who are enrolled in Introduction to African American Studies who graduated from a high school in Alabama. Five $3,000 undergraduate student scholarships are made each academic year, with the remaining $3,000 used to provide scholarships for graduate student mentors. The undergraduate scholarships are awarded for one year only and no undergraduate student will receive the scholarship more than once during his or her enrollment at The University of Alabama.
