Dr. George and Billie Layton Endowed Scholarship

Established by the family of the late George Leslie Layton and his wife, the late Billie Swain Layton, to honor their contributions to public education in the state of Alabama. Priority of consideration is given to full-time junior students who are enrolled in the College of Education and possess a 3.25 or higher grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Among qualified applicants, the deciding factor is financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines. It is the Donor Representative’s intent that each recipient receive at least $4,500 annually from this scholarship.
