John A. and Laura P. Carriger Memorial Endowed Scholarship

Established by Laura P. Carriger through her estate to promote the education of deserving full-time students at The University of Alabama. Each scholarship is awarded to a student based on academic performance, community service and financial need, and includes tuition, fees, room, board and books. Priority of consideration is given to full-time students with financial need. Consideration should be given to the student’s financial need, and not to the financial status, or lack thereof, of the student’s parent or parents. The fund is intended to provide funds for students possessing good academic performance and community service, who could not otherwise receive financial assistance because of parental income or resources.
