Oscar Newton Endowed Support Fund

Established by American General Life Insurance Company of Houston, Texas, along with friends and colleagues of the College of Communication and Information Sciences to promote excellence in public speaking. Earnings are used to fund The Oscar Newton Public Speaking Award, a cash prize recognizing the winners of an open competition called “The Speak Off” held twice a year by the Department of Communication Studies for all students enrolled in public speaking.
