Mary Ellen Stinson Rowland Memorial and Sue Ellen Rowland Summers Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established by Sue Ellen Rowland Summers to promote the education of deserving undergraduate students who enroll full time at The University of Alabama. Consideration shall be restricted to entering freshmen or transfer students enrolling in the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration at The University of Alabama. Among entering freshmen only those demonstrating a minimum 24 ACT composite (or corresponding SAT) and a minimum cumulative 3.0 high school grade point average are eligible for consideration. Among transfer students, only those demonstrating a minimum cumulative 3.0 community college grade point average are eligible for consideration. The following additional priorities apply in order of preference: (a) entering freshmen graduating from a high school located in Walker County, Alabama and students transferring from Bevill State Community College, Walker College (Jasper) campus who indicate their primary residence as Walker County; (b) entering freshmen graduating from a high school located in Jefferson County, Alabama and students transferring from Bevill State Community College, Walker College (Jasper) campus who indicate their primary residence as Jefferson County; © entering freshmen graduating from a high school located in any other county in the state of Alabama and students transferring from Bevill State Community College, Walker College (Jasper) campus who indicate their primary residence as any other county in the state of Alabama. The scholarship is automatically renewable for each succeeding year of the recipient
s undergraduate education, not to exceed a total of four academic years of undergraduate study (eight semesters consisting of fall and spring), provided the incumbent recipient’s academic performance and progress are of such quality as to justify such renewal by maintaining a minimum 3.0 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale.
