Tuscaloosa County Medical Alliance Endowed Nursing Scholarship

Established by the Tuscaloosa-Hale County Medical Alliance (formerly the Tuscaloosa-Hale County Medical Auxiliary). Priority of consideration is given to incoming freshmen who are residents of or dependents of residents of Tuscaloosa County who express an intent to pursue a nursing degree in the Capstone College of Nursing and subsequently enter the nursing profession. If there are no eligible candidates from Tuscaloosa County, eligible candidates from the West Alabama area may be considered. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year only, but it is renewable for each of the subsequent years of the recipient’s undergraduate education, provided the scholarship committee deems the recipient’s performance and academic progress to merit retention. Failure to meet the high standards required by the Capstone College of Nursing constitutes grounds for the committee to place the recipient on probation or to withdraw the scholarship.
