Enoch and Ruth Brantley Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund

Established by Anita B. Strider in association with the Shelby County Alumni Chapter to honor the memory of Enoch and Ruth Brantley. First priority of consideration is given to entering freshman, transfer or currently enrolled students graduating from a high school located in the state of Alabama whose main residence at the time of high school graduation is the Big Oak Boys’ Ranch located in Gadsden, Alabama, or the Big Oak Girls’ Ranch located in Springville, Alabama. Among qualifying applicants, those residing at one of the Big Oak Ranches as foster children will have priority of consideration over those residing at the Ranches for other reasons (i.e., natural children of House Parents or other Ranch employees). Second priority of consideration is given to entering freshman students graduating from a high school in Shelby County, Alabama. Third priority of consideration is given to entering freshman students graduating from a high school in Alabama. The scholarship shall be awarded for one year only.
