Lauren Alexis Whinery Memorial Annual Scholarship

Established by Tom Whinery and Janelle Whinery to honor the memory of their daughter. Priority of consideration is given to incoming freshmen students who graduated from a high school from a Midwestern State (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin), possess a 3.5 or higher high school grade point average on a 4.0 scale, are enrolled in the Culverhouse College of Business majoring in marketing or business and who have faced hardships in either their personal lives or at home and may not otherwise be able to attend college due to financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines. The Donor Representative requests that preference be given to students who demonstrate a commitment to service in our community, overall academic progress and involvement in extracurricular activities.
