K.C. and Hazel Ptomey Endowed Scholarship

Established by William G. Hargett and Susan Ptomey Hargett to honor the memory of Susan Hargett’s father and mother, K.C. and Hazel Ptomey, and to promote the education of deserving full-time students in the College of Arts and Sciences. Priority of consideration is given to full-time undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences who are graduates of high schools in Alabama; possess a strong work ethic and desire to succeed; demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines; and maintain the grade point average required by the College for scholarship support.
