James Searcy Snow Sr., M. D., Endowed Nursing Scholarship and Nursing Award

Established by Dr. Richard Maxwell Snow to honor the memory of his father, Dr. James Searcy Snow Sr. In July 1992, the Annie Ross Dee bequest of $25,000.00 was added to the endowment. An annual prize is awarded to the senior nursing student with no more than 15 semester hours credit transferred from another institution and with the highest academic average at graduation. Priority of consideration for the scholarship is given to freshmen students with demonstrated academic ability and moral character who intend to pursue nursing as a career, preferably in the west Alabama area. Financial need may be a consideration.
