Terry K. Spencer Annual Scholarship

Established by Terry K. Spencer. Priority of consideration is given to freshman students who graduated from Hale County High School in Alabama and are enrolled in the College of Engineering. Second priority of consideration is given to freshman students who graduated from Hale County High School in Alabama and are majoring in biochemistry, chemistry, cyber criminology, environmental science, geology, mathematics, or physics in the College of Arts and Sciences. Third priority of consideration is given to transfer students from Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, who graduated from a high school in Hale County, Alabama. It is the Donor Representative’s intent that the scholarship be awarded to one new freshman each year which will be renewable throughout the recipient’s academic career, regardless of whether they change majors and provided the scholarship committee deems the recipient’s performance and academic progress satisfactory. Therefore, over the course of his or her career at the University, each recipient will receive $5,000 each year, or a total of $20,000 over the course of four years.
