Thornton Family Endowed Scholarship

Established by Orlena K. Thornton to honor the memory of her husband Colonel Clark O. Thornton. Priority of consideration is given to students enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences who graduated from high schools in the state of Alabama; who maintained at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale during their high school career; who have demonstrated leadership, good character, and community involvement; and who demonstrate financial need, although not necessarily need as defined by federal guidelines.
