Samuel Thomas Barnes IV Endowed Academic Scholarship in New College

Established by family and friends of Samuel Thomas “Tom” Barnes IV. Priority of consideration is given to a student in New College who has demonstrated a commitment to a career in the area of public leadership and service through his or her academic work and practical experience. This student should have junior academic standing and have completed academic work in areas relating to public policy and leadership. The academic work and practical experience considered for this scholarship need not be confined to governmental politics, and it may include community, state, national, or international public service. The key characteristic to be evidenced is demonstrated interests and personal involvement in improving the ways in which we make decisions together to improve our common lives.
