William M. Crane Endowed Scholarship for Eagle Scouts
Established by friends and colleagues of William M. Crane to honor the memory of Mr. Crane and to promote the education of students at The University of Alabama. Priority of consideration is given to entering freshmen who have earned the rank of Eagle Scout and who demonstrate financial need. Among qualified applicants, preference is given to individuals in the Tukabatchee Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. To be considered, applicants submit a 500-word essay on the impact of being an Eagle Scout to the scholarship committee. The donors preference is that only one student receive the scholarship per academic year. Recipients are selected in accordance with the procedures developed in compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and the regulations promulgated thereunder.
